Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport celebrates Arab Tourism Day (JIT)

 

As part of the celebration of Arab Tourism Day, organized under the supervision of the Arab Tourism Organization, TAV Tunisie, the operator of Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, hosted a promotional event for the region and its airport under the slogan “Towards sustainable ecotourism”, organized by the Sousse Regional Tourism Commission under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism, the Tunisian National Tourism Office and the Governorate of Sousse, on Friday February 23, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. at Enfidha-Hammamet international airport.

The celebration took place in the presence of Mr. Nabil Ferjani Governor of Sousse, and Ms. Mélanie Lefebvre, General Director of TAV Tunisie, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and the Tunisian National Tourist Office as well as representatives of the People's Assembly and the Ambassadors of brotherly Arab countries and representatives of travel agencies, tour operators and Arab airlines.

This event aims to increase awareness of the tourism product and its various components in the governorate of Sousse, including the Enfidha-Hammamet international airport, as well as to create special exhibition pavilions for artisans and traditional industries. In addition to organizing direct professional meetings between TAV Tunisia and travel agents, tour operators and airlines to improve and develop air traffic between the Tunisian Republic and the Arab countries and address the challenges that hinder the flow of tourists from these countries. It should be noted that Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport has the largest reception capacity of all Tunisian airports.

The prominent Sahel region was chosen to host this celebration due to its abundance of historical, cultural and natural tourist attractions and a distinct and integrated tourism product, and because it is notably home to the international airport of Enfidha-Hammamet. The latter occupies an important position in the region and is considered the first and privileged gateway to Tunisia for tourists given the high quality services it offers them, its strategic and distinguished location given its proximity to major cities. the country's most important tourist attractions and its role as a connection point between Africa and Europe.

On the sidelines of this event, a new bus belonging to the new fleet of the Société de Transport du Sahel (STS) was presented by its General Director, which will be used to ensure the regular transport of citizens and tourists to and from the International Airport of Enfidha-Hammamet, which will strengthen efforts to break the isolation of the airport and connect it to Tunisia's major coastal cities and its main tourist seaside resorts.

Finally, TAV Tunisia, as a major player in the tourism sector, confirms through this celebration its commitment to strengthening national efforts to advance and promote Tunisia as an essential tourist destination.
